Currently the ELITE™ is used by forensics specialists in post-blast investigations, law enforcement and military groups in attack-the-network (ATK) operations, and by security guards screening personnel, passengers, and vehicles for evidence of explosives.

ELITE Model EL100
The ELITE Model EL100 is the only product sensitive to a broad range of explosives that is inexpensive enough, reliable, rugged and simple enough to be distributed to every policeman, special forces team, police and military vehicle for on-the-spot testing for trace explosives.
Several categories of explosives can be tested with one EL100, including nitro aromatics, aliphatics, inorganics, bromates, chlorates and perchlorates. Very bright color changes indicate the presence of a broad range of military, commercial and inorganic explosives and propellants.
The entire test takes less than two minutes. The EL100 is currently in use with in United States’ local and state police as well as the US TSA, FBI and Army; it is also used by commercial security for the protection of power plants, cruise lines, and public transportation.
ELITE Model EL240
The ELITE Model EL240 detects all of the peroxide-based explosives (TATP, MEKP, HMTD, etc.) in one simple, self-contained disposable device, it also detects chlorate and bromate mixtures.
The EL240 is unique in that it measures suspect particles AND vapors. It will detect trace amounts of peroxide-based explosives from roughly 500 nanograms and will detect hydrogen peroxide solutions above roughly 30% concentration without having to come in actual contact with the suspect liquid. (Concentration is much lower when in contact with the liquid.)
Furthermore, the EL240 distinguishes the peroxides from chlorates/bromates by a color differentiation. Peroxide-based explosives are known for their sensitivity to friction-induced detonation so the EL240 has a pen-like design to minimize the likelihood of injury to a user’s fingers should detonation occur.

FIDO XT – Explosives detector
At less than three pounds, the Fido Portable Explosives Detector is the world’s most sensitive explosives detection system. Detects common military-grade compounds used in homemade explosives and IED’s, including PETN.
Fido explosives detectors utilize proprietary amplifying fluorescence polymers (AFP) to detect trace levels of explosive materials in parts per quadrillion (ppq). This level of detection is comparable to that of highly trained explosives detection canines, the gold standard in explosives detection technology. Unlike the alternative, the exquisite sensitivity of the Fido supports detection of both explosive vapor and particulates without the need to modify the system in any way. This unique design enables previously unheard of functionality for explosives detection equipment.
The Fido XT can be configured in multiple formats to accommodate the needs of most explosives detection applications. The system includes a control unit and separate sensor head where actual explosives detection takes place. These two components can be connected directly for one-handed explosives detection operations or via tether for added maneuverability. In addition, the sensor head can be mounted for benchtop applications.
Due to its size and trace vapor detection capability, the Fido XT can be easily integrated as a payload onto robotic vehicles for remote explosives detection applications. Dependent upon the robot, this can be accomplished either by inserting the entire system onto the robotic platform or by attaching the sensor head to a robotic arm.

The APAC Cup is designed by an Australian science team
In 2010, APAC Security was awarded a government contract to supply Drug of Abuse screening cups to corrections. Quite soon we realised that the configurations of the drugs were not suitable for corrections and we were not able to find any alternatives, in Australia nor Internationally. Since we had over 10 years experience from the development of the BIOSENS system, which is based on an immunoassay based technology, we decided to design our own lateral flow immunoassay cup.
An immunoassay device, like the APAC Cup, is based on the principle of developing Monoclonal Antibodies, that can detect target molecules like Methamphetamine. Inside the APAC Cup, each detectable drug is represented by a single strip that soaks up urine in a lateral flow. Once the urine “climbs” the strip, it passes through an area where the monoclonal antibodies are attached to the strip. The antibodies mix with the urine and continue to flow upwards, towards a Test line, T-line, which is coated with something similar to Methamphetamine, so called antigen. Importantly, the antigen has a weaker affinity to the antibody, meaning the antibody prefers being attached to the “real” Methamphetamine rather than weaker antigen. If the urine contains none or low concentrations of Methamphetamine, the antibodies will bond to the antigens on the T-line. The less concentration the more antibodies that bond to the T-line. Since the antibodies have been linked with a reddish ink made from gold, you don’t actually see the antibodies but the gold colloid particles. Consequently if the urine contains Methamphetamine, the antibodies will simply pass by, the T-line, as the bonding to the real drug is stronger, meaning no line represents a positive.
The APAC Cup is quality approved
Collection and testing of drugs in urine and oral fluid (saliva) are governed by NATA, which is an Australian Authority. The urine standard is named as AS/NZS 4308:2008 and the oral fluid AS 4760:2006. The standards covers issues such as proper collection, chain of custody, initial screening, confirmation analysis and reporting of samples. The requirements for the APAC cup can be found in AS/NZS 4308:2008, Appendix B – “Verification of performance of on-site devices around Cut off”.
The current standard only involves the six “standard” drugs and defines what concentrations should be considered as negative or non-negative (syntax is non-negative, as the sample can only be confirmed as positive after a final GCMS or LCMS confirmatory test). As one may realise it is quite important that the community agree to what should be regarded as negative/non-negative, in terms of concentrations, which are defined as follows:

Because the cups are not digital e.g. providing an Opiate negative for 299 and non-negative for 301, the standard stipulates that the cup must show a negative for the cut off minus 30% and a non-negative for the cut-off plus 25%. As an example the APAC cup must display a Heroine negative for a urine concentration of 210 ng/ml (nano gram per micro litre) and below & a non-negative for a concentration of 375 ng/ml and above. Consequently, APAC Security sent a number of cups to a government laboratory who tested the cups against the cut offs. A Certificate of compliance was issued after the final test in 2016.

Trace detection –
Low False Alarm Levels save time for the operator which is important especially if the volume of samples are high. High levels of False alarms increases the amount of manual inspections which naturally is dearer and more cumbersome as opposed to Low False Alarm level which reduces the need for follow-up and therefore saves time and money.
Non intrusive skin testing –
Urine and saliva sticks become expensive with increasing volumes. The BIOSENS cost per test, on the other hand, becomes cheaper with increasing volumes. A valid similarity is comparing the cost of driving a car and taking a taxi. The more you drive the more viable it becomes to drive your own car.

The IDEX™ kits are a series of explosive and illicit drug precursor identifiers that detect/identify found substances such as fertilizers or materials that might be used to manufacture home made explosives (HME) or illicit drugs. Instead of testing for a broad range of explosives, each one targets a specific category of explosive or precursor or illicit drug or precursor.
The IDEX™ series so far includes tests for:
